Put on your dancing shoes and support those with special needs

Area residents are invited to an unforgettable evening as St. Coletta’s of Illinois marks 75 years of service to children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

The nonprofit social service agency is planning a Caritas Benefit for Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, at The Odyssey in Tinley Park.

This year’s theme is a classic 1950s dinner dance, complete with specialty cocktails, dinner, dancing, and live music from Coax & Folks, a 7-piece powerhouse band with deep ties to Chicago’s south side, where their musical journey began during two members' high school days at St. Rita. A third band member, bass player Daniel Waddell, serves on St. Coletta’s Foundation Board.

Proceeds from the event will go directly to supporting St. Coletta’s mission of providing compassionate care, educational services, and vocational programs that help individuals with developmental disabilities lead fulfilling and meaningful lives.

“This is not only a celebration of our organization’s past, but a chance to look ahead at the continued impact we can have on our community,” said Heather Benedick, St. Coletta’s CEO. “We invite everyone to come dressed in their best 1950s attire and join us for a night of nostalgia, fun, and generosity.”

The evening’s program will feature a cocktail reception, a four-course dinner, live entertainment, and a silent auction. The highlight of the evening will be honoring individuals who have contributed to the success of St. Coletta’s over the years, as well as a special presentation reflecting on 75 years of progress and future goals.

Tickets for the Caritas Benefit are $200 per person, with all proceeds directly benefiting St. Coletta’s programs and services. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
